May's Art School offers art classes for children ages above 3. We teach the following:

Painting/Drawing

Various drawing materials are utilized to implement unique styles of art. Students will participate in various Painting techniques such as sketch, color pencil drawing, charcoal drawing, mark pen painting, color pastel or oil pastel painting, cartoon drawing, watercolor painting, poster color painting, acrylic painting, lines arts, traditional Chinese painting, ink and mix media painting, Chinese calligraphy, oil painting, and picture printed from an engraved or etched plate of copper, zinc, wood, stone or rubber are well integrated to show lines usage, light focusing and their texture effects on the work.

Designing

Basic design skills such as contrast, harmony, rhythm, exaggeration, abstraction, simplicity, and silhouette are fully exploited when developing a project. Students are required to demonstrate their learned skills via PPT, including poster design, dissertation cover plan, page formation, and congratulatory card devise, etc. As usual, priority is put on practicability and applicability.

Solid sculpture

With multi-media facilitators, students are instructed to use empaistic, penetrating and round sculpting skills when craving animals, plants, people, scenery, geometrical graphs, and cartoon figures to create works with amazing effects. We try to guide students to a wonderful experience, starting from the sense of points, lines, sides and plane composing to the concept of black, white, gray, color process & gradually changing, and drifting in the imagination of three dimensions, which inevitably brings great satisfaction in their creative.

Arts appreciation

Famous painters, paintings and their original creative concepts will be carefully analyzed throughout the whole teaching semester, so that students can integrate the essence into their own works.

 

教學分四部分:繪畫,設計,造型,藝術鋻賞

繪畫

鉛筆,炭筆畫,彩色鉛筆,馬克筆,色粉畫,卡通,水彩畫,水粉畫,重彩,綫描,囯畫,水墨畫,書法,板畫,炳烯畫,油畫棒等各種表現技法。強調綫條,光影明暗,肌理效果,通過學生動腦動手,借助各種材質的不同風格來表現作品。

設計

應用對比,協調,韻律,誇張,抽象變形,簡化,剪影等各種美學基礎設計制作。尤其是益于學生在校生作各種各樣(PROJECT)圖文並茂的上臺演示自己的作品,從廣告招貼畫到論文的封面設計,内頁及各種賀卡的平面立體設計等。強調日常生活中的實用性,應用性的設計理念。

立體造型

把浮雕,透雕,圓雕,動物,植物,人物,風景,幾何圖形,卡通造型,借助日常生活中隨意可得的多媒體材質,融入作品中,產生意想不到的傚果。啓發式引導學生從點,綫,面,平面構成的理念延伸到黑,白,灰,色彩推移,漸變及三維空間的遐想。老師會循序漸進地引導學生步入其樂無窮的濜界。

藝術鋻賞

常常在教學中介紹古今中外的名家名畫及創作理念,比較其中的絕妙之処,讓學生在了解的同時吸收再創作,產生靈感發揮出自己的作品。
